SUMMARY:Susan Hellman Research Presentation
DESCRIPTION:The Historical Society of Fairfax County is hosting historian Susan Hellman to discuss her documentation on The Negro Travelers’ Green Book.  Due to its centralized location along the mid-Atlantic coast\, Virginia maintained a major presence in The Green Book from 1938 to 1967. Virginia was a destination and a point of departure\, as well as a place to pass through when traveling between northern and southern states.  You can learn more history about Susan’s work and the Green Book at this website. \n\n\n\nThis will be a great program AND a great opportunity to see a beautiful one-room schoolhouse! If you plan to attend\, please send an email by noon Dec. 5 to president@fairfaxhistoricalsociety.org or president Sue Kovach Shuman at queenofcheaptravel@gmail.com
