Susan Hellman talks about her research on The Negro Traveler’s Green Book in December at the historic Oakton Schoolhouse. During segregation, people of color were barred from many hotels on road trips. The Green Book listed places where they were welcome. Hellman’s research documents Virginia sites, some still standing.
